Sugilite is a very sough- after mineral, mined in South Africa. It is ideal as a collector’s item, for healing kits, spell jars, display, or as for use in jewelry.
It has become quite hard to find, and many fake stones are sold as Sugilite.
It is a good idea to purchase your stones from a reputable crystal dealer, and be aware that low priced items are often not the real deal.

A lot of Sugilite is actually held onto by the very people who sell crystals, as an investment for their collections.
Colour can range from pink to purple shades and the value can vary greatly. As with all stones, each one, is one of a kind and you will either fall madly in love, or find another one you adore.
Sugilite is named after the Japanese Geologist, Ken-ichi Sugi, who discovered the first Sugilite on the island of Shikoku. It is also sometimes called “wesselite”, after the deposit found and mined from Wessles Mine in the Kalahari. Some Sugilite can have clear, gel like appearances, and this often makes it more valuable. These are often only visible when light is shined behind the stone, and it can be quite exciting to carefully study stones and cut items, finding hidden delights!
It is a very strong healing stone and has the potential to connect body to soul, align the chakras and connect the user deeply to their higher self.
Sugilite is particularly useful for those who are sensitive empaths, being able to assist with clearing and balancing emotions and allowing you to release the energies of others that may be lingering around your own aura.
This purple stone is associated with the Third Eye and Crown Chakras, and is infused with pure love and a very comforting energy. It is said that it will ease pain and headaches, and enable those with negative thought patterns to work on releasing them. To clean your stones, you can gently wash them under running water and allow to air dry.
