Our Malachite is from the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Malachite forms in many different ways and sizes. Malachite has a high copper content, and some people think that it may be toxic, but it is generally the dust from mining, cutting and polishing that can issues when inhaled. Handling Malachite may affect those with sensitive skin, and you should always wash your hands after working with any crystals, for many reasons, including cleansing your own energies. Store your malachite in a dust free zone, and wash gently under cool running water when needed. Allow to air dry outside. Do not use Malachite to infuse water, or any other liquid. Malachite is very sensitive to cleaning products and ammonia and should not be worn when doing the household cleaning! Having Malachite around is not dangerous, and holding it is not toxic. It can break down if exposed to the correct levels of PH in water, and can also be a health hazard if being worked, polished, or cut. Should you drop and break your stone, use caution and a mask to avoid breathing any dust in – to be extra, super safe! This is not generally a concern at all.
