The beautiful combination of Malachite and Chrysocolla, two of the Copper Belt wonders, makes for a super item!

The deep cyan blue tones of Chrysocolla make for a striking stone in any display, and the swirls of Malachite turn this into a special collector’s item.  Historical notations speak of malachite and chrysocolla being used, in adjusted forms, to solder gold.  It is also known as “gold solder” for this reason.  A 2006 spectrographic study suggested that Chrysocolla may be a mixture of the copper hydroxide spertiniite and chalcedony.

Botryoidal growth patterns, named after the Greek word for bunch of grapes, bὁrus, is evident through the rounded formations. This is caused when the mineral is in an environment with many small particles, or dust particles, acting as “seeds” for many separate growths, which then overlap, and form the lovely “bumpy”, or bunch -like look and feel.

For healing, Malacolla carries the power of both Malachite and Chrysocolla, making it a versatile healing stone.

It is good for grounding, transmuting stress and anxiety and giving the holder confidence and strength. Think of the ocean in the blue and land in the green…..filling one with power and growth, patience and fortitude.

Malachite connects the heart and throat chakra, while Chrysocolla encourages a healing and cleansing of the throat area. This will help with communication and speaking, aiding in clear and meaningful words.

The use of this stone for lowering blood pressure is often mentioned. It is also useful in digestive healing, and can assist with reproductive organs.

As this is a copper-based mineral, it is NOT safe to use as a water or elixir infuser.
